The New York Mets continued their attempt to bolster a bullpen that ranked second to last in baseball in earned run average last season by agreeing to a deal with 40-year-old veteran right-hander LaTroy Hawkins.
Hawkins put up a 3.64 ERA to go with a 1.38 WHIP and 23:13 K:BB ratio in 42 innings last season with the Angels.
He is also, apparently a vegan (in case you wanted to know) with a kick ass nickname according to former Angels teammate C.J. Wilson.
