Mets Make Three Errors In Seventh, Open Up Floodgates

Tonight the Mets fell to the Cubs 6-1, despite a good outing from Johan Santana, mostly due to a horrendous seventh inning…

Terry Collins was concerned about the team having a let down tonight, and apparently he knew something the rest of us didn’t.  The seventh inning of this game tonight has been brutal.  The Mets made two three-base errots, allow me to repeat that, TWO THREE BASE ERRORS.

The first error was a pop up that landed right in front of the plate, past the glove of David Wright.  The ball then found it’s way to the back stop allowing Adrian Cardenas to hustle his was to third base.

Two batters later, with the infield in, Lucas Duda was forced to come all the way in on a pop fly just past the infield dirt.  Duda didn’t make the catch and the ball rolled away allowing Darwin Barney to advance to third.

As if that wasn’t enough errors for one inning, Ronny Cedeno found a way to boot a grounder with the infield in allowing yet another run to score.

All-in-all 4 unearned runs in the seventh, allowing the game to get out of hand.
