The New York Mets drew back into a tie for first place atop the NL East last night with a series-opening win against division rival Philadelphia. This afternoon at 4:05 in Citizens Bank Park Jonathon Niese, who mildly flirted with a no-hitter in his first start of the season against Atlanta, will try to lead the Mets to a series clinching victory against Vance Worley and the Phillies.
New York has not had a lot of luck against Worley in the past as the 24-year-old righty posted a 3-1 record with a 3.00 ERA in 4 starts against the Mets last season.
Line-up:
Right now the question everyone’s mind is whether or not David Wright will play or if he’s headed for a DL trip. Nothing has been announced just yet but a decision will likely be made once the third baseman is evaluated after his time in the batting cage.
