That’s quite the haul for Gio Gonzalez.

As far as the Mets are concerned, I’m glad the Mets didn’t give up anything comparable to what the Nationals did for Gonzalez, no matter how good he is.  That was a ton of talent to give up.  But in terms of dominoes falling, this could be interesting for the Mets.  With another starter (and a lefty at that) off the market, and the Blue Jays not landing any of them while being connected to Jonathon Niese, I wouldn’t be surprised for Niese to the Blue Jays rumors to heat up a bit.

Looks like it’s a 2-year deal worth $26 million.  Bottom line here: Carlos Beltran in a Cardinals uniform is weird. Period.  That’s all I have to say about that.

So Adam Wainwright and Carlos Beltran are now teammates.
