The New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves 12-2 on Friday night snapping a six game losing streak and moving back into a tie with the Nationals for third place in the NL East in the process.  The twelve runs scored were the most ever scored by NY in Turner field.

The 20 hits for the Mets marked a season high as five NY batters collected three or more hits, including Lucas Duda — who picked up his second four-hit performance of the season — and David Wright; who delivered two home runs and five runs batted in on the night:

It's David Wright's 17th career 2-homer game. Second of season. Also 4/24 vs. Arizona.

Chris Capuano gave the Mets a solid performance allowing just two runs over five innings of work to pick up his 11th win of the season.  Capuano handed the ball over to the NY bullpen, which combined to pitch four perfect innings of relief:

The Mets are back at it tomorrow afternoon at 4:10 pm when they send R.A. Dickey to the mound to square off against Tim Hudson.

*NOTES-

Jason Bay made a spectacular play to rob Alex Gonzalez of a home run in the bottom of the fourth innings:
