The bad news for New York Mets fans is that the team has lost 3 straight and 5 of their last 6. The good news is that Dillon Gee takes the hill tonight at home vs. Washington, a team which he boasts a 3-0 record against in 4 career starts.
The 24-year-old rookie is coming off a solid outing against Atlanta (6 IP, 2 ER, 6 K) and will do battle with Chien-Ming Wang, who the Mets lit up for 4 runs in 4 innings of work back in July. New York will be without the reigning NL player of the week, Jason Bay, who is nursing a shoulder injury.
Willie Harris will get the start in left against the Nats.
Harris has only hit .190 against his former team this season, so apparently the former Met killer has yet to return the favor to his old club now that he wears the orange and blue. Maybe tonight old Willie will change that.
